Lucia Tallová was born in 1985 in Bratislava, Slovakia. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava, where she studied in the Department of Painting (Studio 4, under Prof. Ivan Csudai). Tallová is the recipient of several prestigious awards, including Deutsche Bank’s Artist of the Year 2026, the NOVUM Foundation Art Award 2021, the Tatra Banka Foundation Art Award 2016, the VÚB Bank Painting of the Year 2013, and the Strabag Kunstforum Art Award International 2010.
She has participated in numerous international artist residencies, such as Cité internationale des arts in Paris, France (2020); the Artist-in-Residence program at Karla Osorio Gallery in Brasília, Brazil (2019); the Headlands Center for the Arts in Sausalito, California (2018); Regular Line Santa Cruz in California (2014); and the Strabag Artstudio in Vienna, Austria (2011). In September 2022, Tallová was among the artists selected for the 16th Biennale de Lyon. She has presented her exhibition projects, among others, in Paris, Tokyo, Osaka, Brasília, Amsterdam, Brussels, Vienna, Prague and Istanbul.
Her works are included in the collections of the Bundestag Art Collection, the Slovak National Gallery, Strabag Kunstforum (AT), Museu Nacional da República (BR), MAR – Museu de Arte do Rio (BR), the Nitra Gallery (SK), the Orava Gallery (SK), and the Gallery of M. A. Bazovský in Trenčín (SK).
They are also held in several private collections, including those of Francesca Rinaldo & Alessandro Gallo (IT), Olivier Waltman Picasso (FR), the Maták Collection (SK), the Runták Collection (CZ), the VÚB Foundation / Intesa Sanpaolo (SK / IT), the Marta e Matteo Cardamone Collection (IT), and the WAP Foundation in Seoul, South Korea.
