HOUSE ON THE CLIFF
In her solo exhibition House on the Cliff, Lucia Tallová continues the approach familiar from her earlier projects, in which she “inhabits” the gallery space through a synthesis of painting and installation. Landscape and memory—central to her artistic language—remain at the forefront of this new work created specifically for At Home Gallery in Šamorín.
At the heart of the exhibition stands a monumental object that appears as if a fragment of one of Tallová’s paintings has materialized directly within the gallery. A large-scale painting, set into a wooden structure, recalls the form and proportions of an old billboard. Freed from its conventional place on the wall, the painting enters into dialogue with the surrounding architecture, drawing the entire interior of the former synagogue into its composition.
The title House on the Cliff is not only a reference to the scene depicted on the canvas; it above all decodes an experience - of an open, empty landscape, of solitude, of silence unburdened by informational noise, and of a gaze liberated from visual smog. It speaks of an intense emotional moment, a heightened awareness of the present.
